This policy explains how MCR Removals Ltd t/a Manchester Removals & Storage ("we", "us") handles personal data when you use this website or our removals, packing and storage services. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
The data controller is MCR Removals Ltd t/a Manchester Removals & Storage (Company No. 15941866), Empress Business Centre, 380 Chester Road, Manchester M16 9EA. Contact us about privacy at admin@mcrremovals.co.uk or 0161 238 8915.
2. What we collect
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address.
- Move details: current and new addresses, move date, property size, inventory, access notes and anything you tell us in a survey (including photos or video from a video survey).
- Contract and payment records: quotes, contracts, invoices and payment confirmations. We do not store full card details on this website.
- Communications: emails, WhatsApp messages and call notes.
- Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser type) kept for security, and your cookie choice stored on your device.

We never sell your data and do not send marketing without your consent.
4. Who we share it with
Only where needed to deliver our service: subcontracted removal crews or international partners, packing material suppliers, insurers, our accountants, IT and email providers, and review platforms (TrustIndex, Checkatrade) if you choose to leave a review. All act under contract and must keep your data secure. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
For international moves (for example UK to Spain) we share necessary details with partners and customs authorities in the destination country. Where data leaves the UK we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Quote enquiries that don't go ahead: up to 12 months.
- Customer contracts, invoices and insurance records: 6 years after the job ends (UK tax and limitation rules).
- Storage customers: for the length of storage plus 6 years.
- Cookie choice: 12 months, then we ask again.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email admin@mcrremovals.co.uk; we reply within one month and it is free of charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve it first.
8. Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it, and paper records are kept securely at our office.
